Each session is highly interactive and includes uplifting creativity and mindfulness alongside presentations and discussion space.

Science of stress

This course explores the science of stress so delegates leave empowered to recognise their stress signs and equipped to respond to themselves in a kind and healthy manner.

When we are in stressful situations, our body releases chemicals to stimulate specific physical responses. If these chemicals are not used, they accumulate in our system. Over time, our capacity to cope with life can become reduced.

We get noticeably stressed more easily and can end up in a cycle of negative feelings, critical of our inability to manage whilst simultaneously being overwhelmed by the situations we find ourselves in.

This course helps people break that cycle so they feel better able to be kind to themself whilst they manage life’s challenges.

By the end of the session, participants will:

  • Have an understanding of the body’s chemical responses to stress
  • Identify their own stress triggers
  • Understand how to monitor and regulate their stress levels
  • Explored how stress presents in different people
  • Learn five stress management activities

Following the course, delegates will have the tools to manage their own stress. They will also understand how stress presents in their colleagues so they can empower each other towards excellent self-care.

Avoiding burnout

According to a 2022 McKinsey Institute report*, the global level of employee burnout is around 20%. One in five people feels emotionally, physically and cognitively exhausted by life. 

Surely we can do better. 

A burnt-out person cannot do their best work. Taking care of people makes for better teams and greater productivity. Let’s create workplaces where people thrive.

By the end of the session participants will:

  • Define burnout 
  • Identify the five stages of burnout
  • Assess their own burnout levels
  • Understand the consequences of ignoring burnout symptoms
  • Explore team approach to preventing burnout
  • Be inspired to continue developing their creative wellbeing toolkit

Equipping people with the knowledge and tools to look after themselves is part of the solution. This session could literally save lives.

Empowered Relationships - An Introduction

This session looks at the Drama Triangle and Empowerment Dynamic and helps delegates understand how their responses (conscious and unconscious) influence interactions. 

When we learn to recognise our own patterns – (eg people-pleasing and ‘rescuing’), we are empowered to act differently. 

This has huge implications when we’re working in supportive roles. Boundaries become clearer and easier to maintain. Interactions become more solution focussed. Clients, in turn, are empowered. 

By the end of the session, participants will:

  • Understand the Drama Triangle model and how it applies to working life
  • Recognise the signs of Persecutor, Victim and Rescuer
  • Be familiar with the Empowerment Dynamic
  • Explore the difference between the two models
  • Identify their own patterns
  • Explore how to make changes to foster happier, healthier relationships

This session has the potential to springboard lasting change. When people are enabled to understand how their own patterns influence the quality of their interactions, changes can be made and life gets better all round.
